PadView is a fast and simple Windows program to view XML PAD (Portable Application Description) files.
PAD is an open format to describe downloadable applications.
The PAD format is published and supported by the
Association of Shareware Professionals with
the aim to make the lives of developers and webmasters easier. It is available free of charge
to everyone. By using the PAD system, developers save time by having to create a description
of their software packages only once which can then be uploaded to all sites that support
PAD quickly. Webmasters can process these PAD files and extract the data appropriate for
their site. They can keep the contents of their site current by polling PAD files on the
web sites of the authors of the software they list. More information on XML PAD file may

Installation
- Install PadView by copying the PadView files to a folder of your choice,
you must preserve the sub-folder structure in the zip-file -->>
- Run PadView > "File" > "Preferences"
( settings are saved in PadView.ini )
- .XML files may be associated with PadView.exe
.PAD files may be associated with PadView.exe
NOTE: before uninstallation:
- Run PadView > "File" > "Preferences"
( settings are saved in PadView.ini )
- uncheck .XML files associated with PadView.exe
uncheck .PAD files associated with PadView.exe
Use
Select "File" .> "Open…", select the XML file you wish to view.
or
From the DeskTop or Windows Explorer: Just double click on the XML file you wish to view.
