Revitar
This is ONLY a guitar synthesiser, so it is wise to send the output through a
Guitar
Amplifier effect.
Revitar 2 is heavily underrated, probably because users want more presets and demo mp3s to show
off it's capabilities.
Here is a bank I created for Revitar 2:
-- Clean Electric Guitar Collection -- "
ECLN collection
1", containing 48 presets.
This bank consists of 7 guitars:
Gibson Les Paul,
Fender Stratocaster,
Godin Artisan,
Generic Edged Clean,
Ovation,
Jazz,
Hollow.
Each guitar has presets for different pickup coil positions.
Each pickup coil position has the following 2 "play" presets:
GibsonLS L-pu = Gibson Les Paul, left pickup coil, standard play performance
GibsonLS L-Strum = Gibson Les Paul, left pickup coil, strumming chords with slides
A second bank experimental bank for Revitar 2:
-- Bass Guitar Collection -- "
BASS collection", containing 48 presets.
This bank is still very experimental, any feedback will be appreciated...
Now sounds much better with frettedsynth's new
Bass Amps
Presets 0-9 are the presets from the original ToTc bank supplied with Revitar 2.
Presets 11-35 are the presets from my ECLN collection 1, slighty modified.
Presets 38-47 are the presets from the original ToTc bank, slightly modified.
The modified presets are all set up without "Sustain" and with "Mono" on.
Bass notes are sustained by holding a note.
Press the String "Stop" button for a muted bass note.
Holding one note and then press a second note will produce a bass slide, length controlled by the "Slide" knob.
Some tips: ( remember to save original fxb/fxp ! )
QuickStart:
- Download the free Guitar Suite and send the Revitar output thru the JCM900.dll guitar amp.
- For the fun of it select the "CLN-Acoustic w/harmonics" preset. Yes this is an acoustic preset.
- Turn the "Body Gain" to 0.
- Place the red "Pick" dot in the left-hand corner.
- Set the 3 damping dials in mid-position.
- Set the red palm slider to 0.5
- You can also adjust the red pick-up coil and the red pick for as needed.
- On the JCM900 set the Channel parameter to max. to get distortion.
If you own a foot pedalboard, it is advisable to program the following foot switches:
- inverted "Sustain" >> pressed = sustain off
- "String Stop"
- "Solo" On/Off
- "Chord" On/Off
Fast strumming with chokes:
- Assign "Sustain" and "Strings Stop" to foot switches.
- Try varying the "String Damping" and "Pick Speed", combined with a Wah VST effect ( eg
the free "Coyote Wah" VST effect )

Sustain:
- Setting "String Damping" to minimum sets maximum sustain.
- The 3 damping settings have an influence on the sustain ( damping is basically the opposite
of sustain )
12 string guitar:
- use 2 Revitars, the 2nd Revitar one octave higher, gives a realistic 12 string guitar.
Using NicFit's nF_NoteOnRelease:
with the
nF_NoteOnRelease
plugin placed in front of Revitar 2 it is possible to also generate notes/chords to Revitar 2
when releasing the note on the MIDI keyboard.
