Shadow is a Backup/Synchronization Utility for Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP.
Shadow lets you define Backup-Sets of Disks, Folders and Files to copy as backups.
Shadow does NOT compress or change the data being copied in any way, this means it is
an EXACT copy of the original data.
Features
Explorer-like interface with drag-and-drop support plus context sensitive popup-menus.
You may include as many folders and files as you like, and exclude certain folders, files,
or file extensions, these are then ignored during the Backup process, wildcard "*" support
is provided.
There is an option to delete the files in the destination path which are no longer valid.
You may define Backup-Groups which may contain multiple Backup-Sets.
After the first backup, subsequent backups will ONLY copy new and modified files which
have changed since the previous backup. The archive bit is also fully supported. This
backup method drastically reduces backup-time of these subsequent backups.
Selecting "New-Folder per Backup" will create a new Backup-Folder for each new backup session.
AutoRun version (Shado.ini) is included for unattended backups.
Install Shadow by copying the Shadow files to a folder of your choice.
Use
Click on the Backup-Set or Backup-Group in the Backup Sets/Group panel you wish
to use, this is now the Active Backup-Set/Group.
Select "File" -> "Start Backup", or press F11 on the keyboard to start making a Backup.
Use of AutoRun version (Shado.exe)
Shado.exe resides in the same directory as Shadow.exe.
Shado.exe without any parameters will execute the Backup-set selected by Shadow.exe. Shado.exe "shadowset" will execute the Backup-set defined as a parameter, the double
quotes around the parameter are needed if the Backup-set name includes spaces.
Shado.exe uses the Shadow.ini to find all information needed for the backup process.
Shado.exe will automatically terminate after completion of the backup session.
A log of the last backup session is always kept in L@Log.txt.
